Although the town center and the seashore are the obvious first places to see in Miag-ao, it is the highlands where the richness of Miag-ao’s culture can be found. It is all about hanging bridges, rivers and streams, scenic villages, cliffs, valleys, forests, rice terraces. And most of all, the wonderful, proud and hardworking highland people of Miag-ao.
These images are just a sampling of the highland views of Miag-ao. Reaching some of these places can be as easy as a tricycle ride. Often the highlands are more accessible by single motorbikes (habal-habal), then a long walk through mountain paths and over rice terraces. Experiencing the highlands may include a lot of sweat and pains in different places, but it will be a trek to remember.
Come and see for yourself.
